Paris, France: Itinerary 1-4 Days

Paris is fantastic, but that's nothing new. People have been saying it for years. Everyone has their own sentiments attached to the city of light, and it’s big enough to have something for everyone. Whether you’re visiting for the food, the art, the history, or the culture, you won’t be disappointed.  In college, I did a ten day backpacking trip to Paris, Normandy, and London. During our time in Paris, here is how we saw…

Utah Road Trip Itinerary for 2 Weeks (+Grand Canyon!)

In the summer heat of July, my family decided to go on a Utah road trip vacation. We wanted to mix in overnight camping/backpacking with staying in hotels, so we flew out, rented a car, and explored the wild west! This is our 2 week itinerary. It required a lot of driving, but it is all incredibly scenic- and we were able to see all of Utah’s MIGHTY FIVE on our road trip! Day 1:…

Cuzco, Peru: Top 10 Things to Do

I’ve been to many places around the world, and in all sincerity, Cuzco is one of my favorites. Maybe it’s the Spanish teacher and history lover in me, but I don’t think that’s all there is to it. Cuzco is truly unique, and has such a compelling and unparalleled history. It combines the ancient with the new in a way I’ve never seen elsewhere. The indigenous cultures blend together in the city’s art and history,…

Madrid Walking Tour: 1 Day

Madrid - Spain’s capital city. Located in the direct center of the country, this city draws millions of tourists each year. While it is admittedly not my favorite city in Spain (I feel it lacks some of the charm and character that most Spanish cities have), it is still a great place that is worth visiting! I have been there several times, and for a few of my visits I’ve had only 1 day to…

Greece: 10 Day Itinerary Ideas

Greece is a country on every traveler’s radar- and for good reason. The photos don’t lie. It really is THAT beautiful.  Once you’ve made the decision to go, trying to fit it all in on a budget can be tricky. While many people go to Greece on an organized tour or with a cruise, we chose to do it solo. There are of course pros and cons to each style, but this independent trip let…

Kentucky: Top Things to Do

Unique things to do in Kentucky

When most people think of Kentucky, often the first thing they'll envision is horse races, big hats, and maybe some barefoot children running around a coal mine in the hollers of the Appalachians. While these images (however stereotypical) may represent portions of the bluegrass state, there is so much more than just banjos and moonshine in the great Commonwealth of Kentucky! As a born and raised Kentucky girl with a love of exploration, here are…

Every year, thousands of American college students make their way down to Central America to study abroad in the beautiful country of Costa Rica. Travel Themed Wedding

travel theme wedding example

While this post is not about traveling to far off or exotic destinations, it's about incorporating that love into your big day! Here it is, a special post dedicated to the details of our travel theme wedding in Cincinnati! Annoying or quirky- I've always been a big "theme" lover. 🏊‍♂️ We’ve been taking Lorenzo to swim 🏊‍♂️ We’ve been taking Lorenzo to swim lessons at @goldfish_anderson since winter, and it has been so fun to see his progress! 🐠🐟

At the first lesson, he was terrified. He was scared of the water and crying. 🙁 Now, he sees me set out his swimsuit and starts smiling and getting hyped to go to “la piscina”! 🥳

I love how much his comfort level in the water has increased. He truly has so much fun at the lessons, and he’s definitely ready for summertime at the pool! 🏊‍♀️

Goldfish offers a variety of swim lessons for multiple age groups, they have a heated indoor pool, and very talented (and understanding!) instructors. 🏊‍♂️ If you want to see your child grow in confidence and learn safety skills in the water, check them out!

(PS Lorenzo is in the Mini 1/2 classes)

🇮🇩 This photo is from 2011! 😮Hard to beli 🇮🇩 This photo is from 2011! 😮Hard to believe this was a decade ago. I’m grateful my (then just my boyfriend!) husband John had a nice DSLR camera back then so my photo memories are good quality! 😎 Not many other travelers had them at the time- little handheld digital cameras were the way to go! 📸 I guess we were trendsetters because I even took some artsy “back pics” 😂!

When I went here, I didn’t know anyone else who had ever been to Bali. I knew next to nothing about it. 🤷🏻‍♀️That is a far cry from today, with it being a huge travel hot spot. 🌎

We stayed in a private room hostel for $30 a night, and it was so nice. I wonder if we could find such a steal these days… 🤔

I still remember all the details of my 3 weeks backpacking Southeast Asia so vividly. 💕 I think that’s in part to my large amount of photos, plus my daily detailed journaling!

Do you have a lot of good photos from pre-social media travels? 👇🏼

I’m lucky because my mother in law actually owns and runs this rental, 😇 so we get to head out occasionally if it’s not booked.

🏊‍♂️ We’ve been taking Lorenzo to swim 🏊‍♂️ We’ve been taking Lorenzo to swim lessons at @goldfish_anderson so that he’s ready for a summer of outdoor activity and adventure, and it has been great to see his progress so far! 🐠🐟

At the first lesson, he was terrified. He was scared of the water and crying. 🙁 By lesson 3, he was smiling and even practicing kicking and floating! 🥳 I was honestly very surprised at how much his comfort level and ease in the water increased in such a short time! I credit the patience and persistence of his teacher!

Goldfish offers a variety of swim lessons for multiple age groups, they have a heated indoor pool, and very talented (and understanding!) instructors. 🏊‍♂️ If you want to see your child grow in confidence and learn safety skills in the water, check them out!

Excited to see how much more little Lorenzo progresses in the next few weeks! 🐠

The Red River Gorge is a geological area and canyon system in central Kentucky. Its part of the Daniel Boone National Forest 🌳 and is definitely a bit of a hidden gem!

It has sandstone cliffs, waterfalls, natural rock bridges, and loads of outdoor activities to do! It’s a big rock climbing destination 🧗‍♀️ and has Native American prehistoric sites going back 11,000 years 😯

I used to go here often during college at @universityofky for hiking and camping. The summers have more going on, but this cabin getaway in winter ❄️ with a group of my girl friends was still so fun!
