Singer Island/Palm Beach: Things to Do

I’ve traveled a lot in my lifetime, but some places have had a bigger meaning or impact on my life than others. Singer Island, Florida is one of these locations that will always have a part of my heart! Growing up, my grandparents had a condo on this gorgeous island near West Palm Beach. Every summer we’d spend about two weeks there. Until I was 25, it was host to some of the absolute best…

Cincinnati, Ohio- Things to Do

Whenever someone mentions they're visiting Cincy, they always ask me “what should I do?” Here is my answer to that question! These tips will give a good overview of the Queen City-…

Valencia: 2-3 Day Itinerary Ideas

Iceland Road Trip Itinerary 10-14 Days

Iceland, the land of ice and fire, has become a pretty huge deal lately. This isolated Scandinavian nation was “off the radar” for a while, but has recently seen explosive growth. So, here is my Iceland road trip itinerary (for 10-14 days!). I traveled to Iceland for a road trip with my husband in August. The lack of traffic and easily navigable roads make this an ideal place to explore by car. You can follow…

This New York gem has 19 waterfalls along the “Gorge Trail” at Watkins Glen State Park! This 1.5-mile hike, with 800 steps, also has a 500ft elevation gain. 🤪Given how often you stop for photo ops though, it really doesn’t feel so bad! 🎉

Keep in mind, the State Park is open year-round, but the Gorge Trail shuts from late October/November to April/May due to unsafe conditions. Check their website for details!

I did this hike while carrying my 2 month old, 🥾 and with all the stops for views (and that refreshing misting water!), I really didn’t even break a sweat! 😅If you’ll be in the Finger Lakes region you definitely need to add this to your list!

Helen, Georgia at Christmas is the perfect place f Helen, Georgia at Christmas is the perfect place for lovers of small towns looking for an idyllic backdrop. 🎄

This mountain town was designed with Bavarian themed architecture, and most of the restaurants, shops and bars have Alpine style and German fare. 🇩🇪

Several Lifetime Channel Christmas movies have been filmed here, and it’s easy to see why! 🎥

Here you can attend a “lighting of the village” event (11/24 with appearances by Mr. and Mrs. Claus! 🎅🏼), or a German style Christkindlmarket (11/25-26 & 12/2-3)full of food, live music, and a craft show by local artisans. 🎨

The main thing to do though is simply stroll the streets, enjoying the lights and decor as well as aesthetically pleasing buildings!

So grab some glühwein from Hofer’s bakery, a giant pretzel from Ludwig’s 🥨 and enjoy! 🍻

There’s also a nearby “Christmas in the Mountains” parade (Cleveland), and a “Victorian Christmas” event at the local Hardman farm site. Plus, the area has loads of wineries and scenic waterfalls- so there’s always something to do! 🍷

We really enjoyed our visit, and made it to nearby Dahlonega too (another very cute small town)! The southern hospitality truly is alive and well here- everyone was super chatty and friendly. 😇

It’s easy to get caught up in our stress and sometimes even wish time away when things get rough 😬. Thinking of how I’d feel in 20 years looking back on now though, definitely makes me more grateful for this present time 🩵

So why am I sharing my shame? ⬇️😅 Well, f So why am I sharing my shame? ⬇️😅

Well, first because it’s kinda funnn, and second… I guess I want to seem relatable? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I want everyone to know that bad 💩 shiz happens… even to “seasoned” travelers, and yes even in beautiful places!

The Bali monkey forest story is pretty crazy, and I’ve heard of it happening to many tourists lately! 🙈 They get extra aggressive during mating season I’ve heard. I’m just glad I didn’t end up getting any strange illness!

The sea urchin story is also crazy! When it first happened we tried using a knife to cut it out of my foot, 🔪 but after a lot of blood and unnecessary pain we decided to just leave it be.😖 It slowly dissolved in my foot over the next several months. Definitely painful but only bad for the first week thankfully!

The dog accosting me in Spain… Ah, good times 😂😂

With all that being said, if you don’t buy travel insurance before your trips… you better start doing it!!

Part 2 coming soon because sadly, yes, there are more stories! 😅

While we were capable of taking family photos using a tripod, I knew it would be easier to leave to a professional! That’s where @flytographer comes in 🎉

For your next vacation, take away any pressure you feel about getting nice photos on your own, and choose one of the photographers from their website! They are in cities all over the world 🌎

They can do portrait sessions including headshots, engagement, newlyweds, friends, families, proposals etc! 📷 We were able to book the lovely @kimberleybrandphoto through their site, and had some fun (and toddler craziness)!

Questions?? ⬇️

(PS I’m an affiliate and make a commission if you book a session, but I love this concept and had a genuinely good experience!) 🎉

I also turned these into a “haunted road trip” route that basically goes in a big circle- the map is on the post too! 🗺

Whether or not you truly believe in ghosts, these places still have interesting back stories and are fun to explore! 💀 👻 🪦

I had never heard of this state park before our im I had never heard of this state park before our impromptu New England road trip, but it was easy to fall in love! 💙 Beautiful autumn colors, covered bridges, and cascading water- definitely picturesque! 🍁 🍂🍃 The only downside to this time of year is the crowds- it’s definitely popular! I understand why though! Make sure to pre book hikes as needed and to get to places early if possible.
