Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia: 3 Magic Days

Gazing out at the ethereal landscape, I feel like I am on a different planet. What appears to be sand, or maybe even snow, continues endlessly on. The waves of heat create eerie shapes on the horizon, and the stillness around me makes me realize how vast and unique this place really is. While it may feel like I have transported myself to another world, I have not. We are simply standing in the middle…

Colombia: Best Things to Do- 5 Incredible Experiences

Colombia is a beautiful country filled with friendly people, stunning landscapes, and a rich culture. Unfortunately though, it is also a bit misunderstood. Its reputation from the violence in the 1990’s does not seem to have left it just yet. When I decided to go to Colombia, the main reactions I got from people initially included things like “OMG! Why?” “Is it even safe?” “You are going to get shot!” “What will you even do there?!”-…

Montanejos: Hot Springs & Waterfalls – A Valencia Daytrip

While living in Valencia, Spain a trip to Montanejos was one of the first day-trips I took out of the city with a few friends of mine. Check out the details below!: It was finally time to begin our “day-trip” out of Valencia with the tour company Do-Valencia. I hoped this tour would give us a chance to see a different aspect of the region, and that it would maybe be a little "off the…

Valencia, Spain: Top 10 Things to Do

Valencia is a gorgeous Mediterranean city on the east coast of Spain. It's not typically a common stop in the country however, with most travelers opting to visit nearby Barcelona instead. For anyone who makes the great decision to visit this city though- it certainly won't disappoint! Check my curated list for the best Valencia things to do! I'll admit- I'm a little bit obsessed. After studying abroad there, spending a year living there, (and…

🏊‍♂️ We’ve been taking Lorenzo to swim 🏊‍♂️ We’ve been taking Lorenzo to swim lessons at @goldfish_anderson since winter, and it has been so fun to see his progress! 🐠🐟

At the first lesson, he was terrified. He was scared of the water and crying. 🙁 Now, he sees me set out his swimsuit and starts smiling and getting hyped to go to “la piscina”! 🥳

I love how much his comfort level in the water has increased. He truly has so much fun at the lessons, and he’s definitely ready for summertime at the pool! 🏊‍♀️

Goldfish offers a variety of swim lessons for multiple age groups, they have a heated indoor pool, and very talented (and understanding!) instructors. 🏊‍♂️ If you want to see your child grow in confidence and learn safety skills in the water, check them out!

(PS Lorenzo is in the Mini 1/2 classes)

🇮🇩 This photo is from 2011! 😮Hard to beli 🇮🇩 This photo is from 2011! 😮Hard to believe this was a decade ago. I’m grateful my (then just my boyfriend!) husband John had a nice DSLR camera back then so my photo memories are good quality! 😎 Not many other travelers had them at the time- little handheld digital cameras were the way to go! 📸 I guess we were trendsetters because I even took some artsy “back pics” 😂!

When I went here, I didn’t know anyone else who had ever been to Bali. I knew next to nothing about it. 🤷🏻‍♀️That is a far cry from today, with it being a huge travel hot spot. 🌎

We stayed in a private room hostel for $30 a night, and it was so nice. I wonder if we could find such a steal these days… 🤔

I still remember all the details of my 3 weeks backpacking Southeast Asia so vividly. 💕 I think that’s in part to my large amount of photos, plus my daily detailed journaling!

Do you have a lot of good photos from pre-social media travels? 👇🏼

What are all those blobs on the beach behind me? G What are all those blobs on the beach behind me? Gross dead jellyfish yep 🥴

Anyways…since Instagram doesn’t show photos to anyone now (Reels only it seems), I’m just going to start posting ones I normally wouldn’t have shared a few years ago 😇. Having an “aesthetic grid” doesn’t really seem to matter now either so #yolo 😅🎉

PS what is your favorite beach in the southern or eastern USA that you’d recommend for families? 👇🏼

Farewell to winter ❄️ Since spring is almost o Farewell to winter ❄️ Since spring is almost officially here, 💐 enjoy this throwback of our weekend getaway to @hopewellcroftcabin ! It’s only 1.5 hours from Cincinnati area and it’s so nice to just get away and relax in nature. 🌲

I’m lucky because my mother in law actually owns and runs this rental, 😇 so we get to head out occasionally if it’s not booked.

Do you know anyone who owns a vacation rental property? 👇🏼

🏊‍♂️ We’ve been taking Lorenzo to swim 🏊‍♂️ We’ve been taking Lorenzo to swim lessons at @goldfish_anderson so that he’s ready for a summer of outdoor activity and adventure, and it has been great to see his progress so far! 🐠🐟

At the first lesson, he was terrified. He was scared of the water and crying. 🙁 By lesson 3, he was smiling and even practicing kicking and floating! 🥳 I was honestly very surprised at how much his comfort level and ease in the water increased in such a short time! I credit the patience and persistence of his teacher!

Goldfish offers a variety of swim lessons for multiple age groups, they have a heated indoor pool, and very talented (and understanding!) instructors. 🏊‍♂️ If you want to see your child grow in confidence and learn safety skills in the water, check them out!

Excited to see how much more little Lorenzo progresses in the next few weeks! 🐠

(PS masks are currently mandatory in the water for all adults during the Mini 1/2 classes)

The Red River Gorge is a geological area and canyon system in central Kentucky. Its part of the Daniel Boone National Forest 🌳 and is definitely a bit of a hidden gem!

It has sandstone cliffs, waterfalls, natural rock bridges, and loads of outdoor activities to do! It’s a big rock climbing destination 🧗‍♀️ and has Native American prehistoric sites going back 11,000 years 😯

I used to go here often during college at @universityofky for hiking and camping. The summers have more going on, but this cabin getaway in winter ❄️ with a group of my girl friends was still so fun!
