Traveling in Style: When to Treat Yourself!

For many travelers across the world, budget travel is the holy grail of adventure. There’s nothing like striking out somewhere new and feeling like you’re exploring the place from the ground up. Who wants to simply visit a succession of five-star hotels that are all the same, where you could be anywhere in the world, right!? It sort of defeats the point of traveling in the first place. However, on the flip side, it’s alright…

Best Hikes: Smoky Mountains National Park

If you find yourself visiting the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Gatlinburg area, going on a hike is of course THE main attraction! Having visited Gatlinburg, on many separate occasions, these are the hikes I’ve done that have stood out to me the most! Also please make sure to check the park website for trail conditions and closure notices before setting out. Cades Cove: If you aren’t a big hiker, you can drive this…

Gatlinburg: Top Things to Do

Living just a few hours away from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, I’ve visited Gatlinburg, Tennessee at least twenty times. Thinking back on all these ventures, I’ve compiled my personal recommendations on the top things to do! These activities may all fit into one Gatlinburg trip, or you can spread them out over separate visits. I’ve gone down there for Bachelorette parties, with my family growing up, on my honeymoon, and for a college…

Singer Island/Palm Beach: Things to Do

I’ve traveled a lot in my lifetime, but some places have had a bigger meaning or impact on my life than others. Singer Island, Florida is one of these locations that will always have a part of my heart! Growing up, my grandparents had a condo on this gorgeous island near West Palm Beach. Every summer we’d spend about two weeks there. Until I was 25, it was host to some of the absolute best…

Travel + Sloth Nursery Theme Ideas

I’ve always been one to love “themes”. I’m that girl who has been forcing her friends to dress up and attend my various themed parties for years. Having a sloth theme nursery then should come as no surprise.  After perusing Pinterest for years, there were two themes I couldn’t ignore: travel, and sloths. Since my wedding in 2014 was travel-themed, most of my home decor is, and even my baby shower was “welcome to the…

Travel Theme Baby Shower

This summer, my sisters threw me the Pinterest-worthy baby shower I'd always envisioned. Even during Covid and all its challenges, they still made it happen! This post is dedicated to the details of my travel themed “welcome to the world” baby shower! While the original goal was to host this at a neighborhood clubhouse, we had to have it in an outdoor venue due to occupancy restrictions. Thankfully, my Dad's cousin has a farm with…

10 Must Have Products for all Cat Lovers

Of course I normally blog about travel, but since travel has been a no-go lately, I figured I’d dive into writing about my second favorite topic… CATS!  As a self proclaimed “crazy cat lady”, I am of course very qualified to talk about this important topic! I currently own two indoor manx cats, and they are spoiled by the epic catio my husband built (I’ll save that post for another day!). Here is the list…

🇨🇿 Have you ever had a trdelnik? 🍦 It was 🇨🇿 Have you ever had a trdelnik? 🍦 It was easily in my top 5 best desserts I've ever had 🤤 It's basically icecream inside a giant cone shape donut. My friend and I ate it as a meal on multiple occasions 😁

If you ever head to Prague, save this post! 💙 It's easy to make a long day trip (or better, a weekend outing) to the medieval city of Cesky Krumlov. The whole town is a UNESCO world heritage site, and it has lots of delicious food and dessert 🍪

Have you been to the Czech Republic or heard of this place? 👇🏼 (PS we came here on a day tour through @viatortravel!)
🇯🇴 Do you secretly roll your eyes at instagr 🇯🇴 Do you secretly roll your eyes at instagrammers for hiking in dresses? 🤪 I'll be honest, I used to think they were crazy. Over time though, I realized that most don't actually hike in the dresses, they just change clothes at their destination.

Visiting Petra involves a lot of walking. 🚶‍♀️If you want to go up and see "The Monastery" it involves a hike with lots of dusty, sandy stairs (unless you're one of the people who rides the sad emaciated donkeys to avoid hiking 🥺).

The outfit I have on in this photo was not practical for such activities; so, I was tricky. 😁

Under this flowy dress, I had on a t-shirt and hiking shorts. 🚶‍♀️ I kept the dress on over it for photos, but when I got too hot it was an easy fix!

PS, Jordan recently opened up again to international tourism! Is this amazing country on your list?? 👇
💖 Do you celebrate Valentine's Day in any way? 💖 Do you celebrate Valentine's Day in any way? 👇 Even when I was single, I always still did. I think it's a nice reminder to stop and appreciate all the love that is around us- romantic or not!

This post though is a shout out though to John- the ultimate Instagram husband 😂. He rarely makes an appearance in my feed (even though he takes 90% of my photos 😊).

We've had many great travel adventures over the years, starting with when we backpacked South America in 2009 after not even having dated for a year 🌎

Love you and the life we've worked hard to create (even if I hate your sunglasses and think they've ruined most of our travel photos 😜)! 💖 Happy 12th Valentine's Day together!
Are you ever "too old" to build a snowman by yours Are you ever "too old" to build a snowman by yourself in your front yard while your neighbors judge you? 🤷‍♀️ I hope not...

If you want to get out and enjoy the snow, here's some local ideas!

❄️ Go to Middle Creek Park and take a snowy hike (so scenic!)
❄️ Build a snowman ☃️
❄️ Go snow tubing/skiing at @perfectnorth 🎿
❄️ Sled in the bowl at @devoupark 🛷
❄️ Walk around @newportonthelevee + get delicious hot chocolate under the tent ☕
❄️ Visit the historic Dinsmore house (pictured) and hike around the grounds 🏠
❄️ Watch bison play in the snow at Big Bone Lick State Park 🐃
🇧🇬 Travel shoes! What are your favorite bran 🇧🇬 Travel shoes! What are your favorite brands?

I have crazy wide feet, so it's hard for me to find shoes that are comfortable to walk around in all day. 😞 I also want to find shoes that look cute with dresses (and will look good in photos 🤪), but are also functional.

Over the years, through trial and error (and a lot of blisters!! 😭), I have come to the conclusion that these sandals (@stevemadden ) and @toms sandals are actually the best affordable options for support and style. 🥿👞 I'm crazy and I ended up buying 3 pairs of these same gold sandals 🤷‍♀️

What are your "go to" shoes when you want to be stylish but also not hurt your feet? 👇

PS HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY PRECIOUS BABY KITTIES CORA AND COLITA!!! 🥳🧁🍰🎁🎂🎈🎉

I decided to do a photo shoot for them in my basement because they have been through a lot this year with a new baby invading their space, and well... I was bored 🤣

Any clever cat place names you can add to the list? I'm gonna make this a TikTok so I need material! 👇
❄️ Do you live in Cinci/NKy and are feeling st ❄️ Do you live in Cinci/NKy and are feeling stir crazy lately? 🤪 I feel ya. Freezing rain, dark at 5pm, and nothing to do cuz of cov!d. (PS swipe to the last photo to see Lorenzo's reaction to my photo shoots 🤣)

In an attempt to not lose my mind from lack of travel and socializing, 🤦🏽‍♀️ I came up with a list of things you can do in this cruddy weather (and most you can bring kids to) 👇

1) Go to the @cincyartmuseum, it's free and fun. Then get lunch somewhere in Mt. Adams 🎨

2) Hit up @newport_aquarium and then get fancy hot chocolate in a tent they have set up at @newportonthelevee ☕

3) Go for a "country drive" in Union, Kentucky. Then, stop at Big Bone Lick State Park and see real bison... for free. 🐃

4) Walk around the abandoned Cincinnati Mills Mall (as featured in my "reels" section). It's unique, fun, and perfectly legal. 🚶‍♀️

5) Explore the @americansignmuseum and get some epic photos for the 'gram 📸

Any other fun and relatively easy activities to do in the cold? 👇
🇮🇹 Instagram versus reality 😂 Rome in Ju 🇮🇹 Instagram versus reality 😂

Rome in July (2019) was absolutely insane!! The only way I got this photo was to get there at 630am. 💁‍♀️

The video I took here was taken around noon the same day. Excuse the foggy film quality, it was hot 🥵

Where's the most crowded city you've been to? 👇

🇺🇲 Where were you when you stayed in the bes 🇺🇲 Where were you when you stayed in the best AirBNB/VRBO rental you've experienced? 👇 Bonus points if you can "at" them on here!

When my spring baby moon to Puerto Rico was canceled (😭) and then any summer travels were also canceled (😭), I decided to make the most out of my maternity leave this past September.

My husband and I took our then 3-month-old baby for a 5-day stay at a tiny cabin right on Lake Norris in Tennessee. 🏊‍♂️ The cabin had its own private dock, and honestly we only left the cabin once to get food 🍞.

Sometimes a rental is good enough that you don't really need to leave to enjoy yourself! 😁

When I look back on all of my travels, the only thing I'm sad about is that Airbnb and VRBO weren't really very popular until the last few years. 💕 When I think about all the times I've spent in sketchy hostels and I could have been staying in a private rental for the same price... 😜🤦🏽‍♀️
