10 Must Have Products for all Cat Lovers

Of course I normally blog about travel, but since travel has been a no-go lately, I figured I’d dive into writing about my second favorite topic… CATS!  As a self proclaimed “crazy cat lady”, I am of course very qualified to talk about this important topic! I currently own two indoor manx cats, and they are spoiled by the epic catio my husband built (I’ll save that post for another day!). Here is the list…

Folly Beach, South Carolina: Seaside Getaway

I recently returned from a last-minute family vacation to Folly Beach, South Carolina. Close to downtown Charleston, but far enough away to feel like a small town, I am now enamored with this destination! [gallery type="rectangular" link="none" size="medium" ids="2804,2805,2803"] The pebbly sand at Folly Beach is perfect for relaxing and sunbathing. The whole town has a laid back vibe, which explains why so many travelers visit each year. While the waves were a bit rough…

🇺🇲 What did the short state say to the tall 🇺🇲 What did the short state say to the tall state?

....Utah ! (get it) 🤪

Creds to my sister for making up that terrible joke 🤣

With US citizens not having many travel options this past year, trips to the National Parks out west have been growing in popularity 🌏

SAVE this post and check out my insanely detailed blog about how to plan a trip to the "Mighty 5" National Parks in Utah! 🥾🚶‍♀️
Look familiar? Well, I've posted photos from this Look familiar? Well, I've posted photos from this spot before. 🤪 I haven't *technically* recycled photos from this trip yet, but I'm gonna run out soon. 😕

I haven't traveled internationally since July 2019. My local travels were small, and I didn't take many insta worthy photos. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I'm going to start doing throwbacks of popular destinations, but beyond that- I'm running out of content! 😭

I've been posting more reels lately, as I feel like those are getting much better engagement. 🎥 That's the only thing keeping me motivated by this platform at the moment.

How are you all staying motivated to post on here? 👇 It's fun being a travel blogger during a full year of no travel right ?! 😂

🇮🇸 have you ever taken a photography class? 🇮🇸 have you ever taken a photography class? 👇

I took a black and white film class in college. 📸We took all the photos on manual with actual film (😲) and had to develop them in a tiny dark closet. Later, we'd bring the negatives into the dark room, and bring them to life with all the chemicals! 📸

It was actually a really time-consuming, difficult class. 🤓 You could spend hours taking what you thought would be perfect photos, and then ruin them in the development process. 😭 It made me appreciate digital photography so much more!

Finishing up my Iceland throwbacks with these shots my husband took. 💙 He is definitely way more talented than me, especially with long exposure shots! 🥰

For my road trip map, and detailed itinerary, check the blog! www.greatwidetravel.com/Iceland 🌎
🇮🇸 Can you pronounce the name of this canyon 🇮🇸 Can you pronounce the name of this canyon? I definitely can't.

Trying and failing to pronounce Icelandic words was one of the key joys of my road trip here. We ended up creating weird names in English to substitute 🤷🏽‍♀️😂

💙An insane detailed guide and itinerary for my "budget minded" Iceland road trip, plus an embedded Google 🗺️ map, is all on my blog to help you plan!!

Oh yeah.. Happy New Year! 🎉 Cheers to a year of (🤞) travel and adventure after a year of staying home / eating cheese 🥂
🇮🇸 What's the coldest temperature you've eve 🇮🇸 What's the coldest temperature you've ever experienced, and where? 👇

I'm honestly not sure of my answer, but believe it or not it wasn't here in Iceland! 🥶

If you're planning on heading to this amazing island, make sure you check out my blog post with our road trip itinerary 🚗 and all the details on how we rented our camping equipment and saved money! 💰

The names of things in Iceland can be confusing for English speakers, so save this 😎! To get here, you enter Vatnajökull National Park, and then this is the Skatafell Glacier area of the Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon. ❄️
🇮🇸 Save if you want to travel to Iceland! ❄️

Now that the prospect of traveling to Europe in the summer is semi-realistic for US citizens, 🤷🏽‍♀️ now could be a great time to start planning out a mid-late summer trip to Iceland!

I personally think summer is the best time to visit this amazing island! It's a little weird how it will only be dark for a few hours a day, and no you won't get to see the northern lights, ❄️ but the weather and temps are 👌

I have an insanely detailed post with our road trip driving map, 🚗 all the campsites we stayed at, ⛺ where we rented our camping equipment from, 🧳 and what all we packed in order to pull off a VERY budget-minded trip to this expensive island 💰!

Also, I have details on how to find this difficult to get to waterfall called Brúarfoss! 🌊

🇧🇦 "Fill your life with adventures, not thin 🇧🇦 "Fill your life with adventures, not things. Have stories to tell, not things to show".... unless you're rich. Then have both. 😂

I like to put as much money as I can towards travel, 🌎 and I cringe if I have to spend it on anything dumb, like new tires or repairing a roof. 😭

I like to think of money in terms of flights too. That's just how my brain operates. 🤷🏽‍♀️ If I made $300 for example, I'd think, "wow that's 1/3 of a flight to Colombia"!

Anyone else do this? 👇
🇺🇲 The quote speaks for itself ☝️ Hope y 🇺🇲 The quote speaks for itself ☝️ Hope you guys like my continued use of drawing my calligraphy over my photos! If not, too bad 😅

My last time traveling was this mini getaway to Lake Norris in Central Tennessee at the end of the summer. 🌳 It was so nice to spend time in this cabin in the woods with our own dock by the lake. 🚣‍♀️ Watching the sunrise over the trees, as cheesy as it sounds, was just what I needed! Nature, you the best 🌲

Not sure where my next travel adventure will be, 🌎 but I know it will involve nature. I'm definitely a nature lover over city getaways, although I do like both 🤷🏽‍♀️

What about you: do you usually prefer to travel to big cities, or visit places for the outdoor views and activities? 👇
🇮🇹 This ☝️ I remember when I was 25 I 🇮🇹 This ☝️

I remember when I was 25 I thought I was "too old" to leave my job in real estate and go live in Spain for a while (now I'm like 🤯 "you were a baby, you're insane!").

When I was 28 I thought I was "too old" to study abroad again, and I almost didn't do it because I was self conscious (spoiler, it was amazing 🇨🇷 and I wasn't too old).

When I started a new career and went back to school in my late 20s, I kinda felt that way too. 👩‍🏫

Clearly it's ridiculous of me, but I think that's how society trains us to think. 😳 Go to college, start a job, and no deviations.

It's cliche, but so true. Age is nothing but a number. Ignore your actual age, what your life looks like on paper, and live the life you want 🌎

((PS despite thinking like that most of the time, when I had my first baby at age 33 I actually thought to myself, "I'm too young! I can't be this responsible!" 🤣🤣))
