Details on visiting the “hidden village of Galboly”:

🌿 Once a thriving rural settlement high above the Antrim Coast, this forgotten village was home to over 60 people in the 1800s.

Over time, it slowly emptied as jobs dried up and modern life took over. The last resident, a monk, actually lived here until 2013.

Today the crumbling stone cottages have become a tourist attraction, and served as a moody backdrop for Game of Thrones scenes! It’s also just a nice quiet hiking escape. 🥾

📍 To visit: drive along the scenic Antrim Coast Road past Carnlough, park along the road, then follow the trail up through the gate into the hills toward the ruins.

🩵🩵🩵Always be respectful of the landowner and the fragile site, and be sure to leave some money in the “honesty box” 🩵🩵🩵
