Things to do in Bowling Green, Kentucky (with kids!): A Weekend Itinerary

Bowling Green, Kentucky is best known for a few things: Caves, a charming downtown, Corvettes, and its resident white squirrels! It's also a great destination for families, with many unique things to do. In the heart of the state, Bowling Green offers plenty of outdoor adventures (or relaxing activities) for adult travelers, as well as young families.  After a visit here as a weekend trip, here is my itinerary of the best things to do…

Pigeon Forge Things to Do (Kid Friendly!) + Where We Stayed

Pigeon force kid friendly things to do.

The Great Smoky Mountains is the most visited U.S. National Park, and for good reason. In addition to the park itself, there are loads of kid-friendly things to do in Pigeon Forge and nearby Gatlinburg, Tennessee! Being from the Cincinnati area, it’s only a 4.5 hour drive, so I’ve traveled here many times. Traveling with a toddler, our goal was to find kid friendly activities, and we did! We usually stay in Gatlinburg, so Pigeon Forge…

Tips for Travelling with a Baby (+ Packing List!)

Travel: We usually think of a chill getaway where we can meander about as we please, resting on a tropical beach. Travelling with a baby though? An entirely different story! Travelling with a baby or toddler isn't relaxing. That is a fact. That doesn't mean it isn't still fun, nor that you shouldn't do it! You have to set your expectations accordingly, and be flexible. It will require a lot of planning- but the better…

Norris Lake Cabins & Things to Do

For a relaxing and easy getaway, renting out a Norris Lake cabin or house is a great idea! Only a 4 hour drive from Cincinnati, this beautiful spot in Tennessee is perfect for a weekend on the water. My husband and I headed to Norris Lake for the chance to relax, and get in some swimming (without driving to the ocean). The cabin we rented was the ideal setup to soak up some sun, and…

Travel + Sloth Nursery Theme Ideas for Your Baby

I’ve always been one to love “themes”. I’m that girl who has been forcing her friends to attend my various themed parties for years. Having a sloth nursery then should come as no surprise! 🦥 Since my wedding in 2014 was travel-themed, most of my home decor is, and even my baby shower was “welcome to the world” themed, I didn’t want to overdo it with another travel themed room. I decided then to merge…

I had no idea this small Indiana town has SO much I had no idea this small Indiana town has SO much to do! 🎉 We spent a few days exploring Corydon, Indiana, and it quickly became one of our favorite family getaways! ✨

(I’m not just saying that either, my oldest son LOVED it and asked to go back for his birthday next year!) 😇

What we did:

🏡 Stayed at the historic Oswell Wright House, built in the 1860s, complete with a huge backyard & friendly cats my kids loved! 🐈

🛝 Possibility Playground (biggest accessible playground in the midwest!) @possibilityplaygroundcorydonin

🍕 @swing_andslice for pizza, arcade games + mini golf- the train that brings kids their drinks was a huge hit!

🛍️ Corydon Extravaganza for antiques, vintage finds + crafts. I def bought a few things!

🏘️ Downtown Corydon’s Hop & Shop

🌮 Lunch at Mr. Pancho- their salsa is so good!

🎢 @holidayworld , just 45 minutes away!

🦇 @squireboonecaverns - we did a cave tour with our 6 and 3 year old sons

🍔 Locals Bar & Grill: With windows facing the street, the kids were very entertained

Corydon is walkable, full of friendly locals, and has WAY more to do than we realized. 🎉

We genuinely loved our time here and are already looking for an excuse to go back. ❤️

📍Save this one for your next family getaway! Only about 2 hours from Cincinnati and 30 minutes from Louisville

🎃Want the perfect fall weekend getaway? (Just a 3 🎃Want the perfect fall weekend getaway? (Just a 3 hr road trip from Cincy area!)

You really need to put @holidayworld in Santa Claus, Indiana (yes it’s a real city!) on your list! 🎅🏻

It truly exceeded my expectations, and my kids had so much fun that I know we will be going back! 🎢

Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari is such a unique theme park because you travel through different cute holiday-themed sections. ✨

They have 🎅🏻Christmas, 🎃Halloween, 🇺🇸Fourth of July and 🦃Thanksgiving areas.

I also feel like this park had SO many options for even younger kids. My 3 year old was able to go on most rides (with a parent) and I was pleasantly surprised by that 👶🏼

During Happy Halloween Weekends, the park adds even more fall and Halloween fun! 🎃

Here’s what you can expect:

🦖 Dino Corn Maze Adventure: Filled with life-sized dinosaurs through 12 acres of corn mazes
🚜 Hayrides to and from the corn maze
🍬 Trick-or-Treat Trail for kids
👻 Halloween shows and entertainment
💃 Halloween dance party!
🎃 fall food and treats

If you visit on a Saturday, stay until dark for their AMAZING drone show (like, truly, I was so impressed by it) 🦖

Also, something I LOVE about this place in general is that they have:

🚗 free parking
🥤 free unlimited soft drinks (the best!)
☀️ free SPF

Happy Halloween Weekends are Saturdays and Sundays through November 1st, so get planning!!
