A Tour of Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia: What to Expect

The Salar de Uyuni, or salt flats of Uyuni, is easily one of the most ethereal places on earth. During a backpacking trip in Peru and Bolivia, I spent 2 days in this magical place. Here is how I'd describe my tour of the Salar de Uyuni, and what you can expect: |All photos taken by myself or my husband| Some links in this post are affiliate links, meaning if you book or buy something…

Travel Themed Wedding: Real Life Examples & Ideas

travel theme wedding example

While this is not about traveling to far off destinations, it's about incorporating that love into your big day! Here are the details of our travel theme wedding in Cincinnati! I've always been a big "theme" lover. Our baby has a travel theme nursery, and my sisters threw me a travel theme baby shower. I even turned our home decor into one giant travel theme too! It's just how I am- love it or hate…

Travel Themed Baby Shower : Real Life Examples!

This post shows the details of my “welcome to the world” travel themed baby shower. I'd always envisioned this theme, and loved seeing it come to life! The original goal was to host this at a neighborhood clubhouse, but we had to have it in an outdoor venue (this was 2020). I think it still turned out beautifully! See my travel-themed wedding here! Where to stay in Edinburgh: My Review of Virgin Hotels Edinburgh

One of my favorite travel experiences ever is my ten day road trip through Scotland. During that time, I fell in love with Edinburgh! It might even be my favorite city in all of Europe- now I just can't stop going back to visit. Happily, I found a way to get myself back to Scotland! I added time in London this time around- and brought our 3 year old along with us. We spent 3 days…

20 Awe-Inspiring Locations to Add to Your Bucket List

"Awe: An emotion variously combining veneration and wonder, that is inspired by authority or by the sacred or sublime" Sometimes when you travel, you arrive at a place and can’t help but feel a bit disappointed. You might even feel guilty for feeling that way. Isn’t everything supposed to be exciting and wonderful when you travel? Sometimes, unfortunately, that feeling is inevitable. Maybe something you built up in your mind ends up being disappointing. It…

Travel + Sloth Nursery Theme Ideas for Your Baby

I’ve always been one to love “themes”. I’m that girl who has been forcing her friends to attend my various themed parties for years. Having a sloth nursery then should come as no surprise! 🦥 Since my wedding in 2014 was travel-themed, most of my home decor is, and even my baby shower was “welcome to the world” themed, I didn’t want to overdo it with another travel themed room. I decided then to merge…

Do as many of these activities as you like, or slow things down and just do a few. You really can’t go wrong! 🏰

I feel like this might be the Midwest’s most und I feel like this might be the Midwest’s most under rated destination??

Like, I always knew Michigan was scenic, but how had I never heard of this place before?!

We were so impressed by pictured rocks national lakeshore during our Michigan road trip- I definitely know I’ll be back!

I think I underestimated Michigan. It’s truly so I think I underestimated Michigan. It’s truly so scenic and there are so many aesthetic small towns.

I absolutely loved every place we went on this Michigan road trip, and summer has the perfect weather for it! ☀️

Our family had a great time exploring Indianapolis! ✨ It really does feel like an underrated Midwest destination

🚙Just a 1 hour 45 minute drive from the Cincinnati area, it’s an easy road trip destination (It’s also a 1hr 45min drive from Louisville, and 2hr 45min from Columbus)

An ideal place for a memorable trip with kids in tow, 👶🏼 Indy has many great things to do.

Here are a few of the spots from my reel:

🎉Activities: The Children’s Museum (@childrensmuseum), Indy Canal Walk, Indianapolis Zoo (@indianapoliszoo), Shops of Massachusetts Avenue

🍽️Food: Gordon’s Milkshake Bar (@milkshakeindy), Harry & Izzy’s (@harryandizzys), Cafe Patachou at the Stutz (@cafepatachou), Baby’s Burgers (@babys_indy), Iozzo’s Garden of Italy (@iozzos), Bovaconti Coffee (@bovaconticoffee), Garage Food Hall (@thegaragefoodhall)

Details on visiting ⬇️🦇 I feel like we all Details on visiting ⬇️🦇

I feel like we all collectively forget this fact, but Mammoth Cave is the WORLD’s longest cave system- 🌎 not just in the USA, but yes...the WORLD!

They’ve already explored and documented around 400 miles of it, and they know that’s not all there is to it. 🤯

I was pleasantly surprised with how accessible the cave and its tours are for families. 👶🏼

We did two different cave tours with a baby (in a front baby carrier) and a toddler (walking, but had a toddler sling holder for steps, etc.), and both went really well!

🦇 When you visit the cave, there are multiple tours to choose from. We did the “Frozen Niagara” and the “Historic Tour”, both of which were great! 👍

Being from Kentucky, I’ve been to Mammoth Cave several times over the years, but it never ceases to impress me! 😮

Everyone should visit at some point…unless you are claustrophobic, scared of the dark, or scared of bats!!
