You may luck out with temps in the upper/mid 40's, but it can definitely drop below freezing and get cold enough to snow. There's also about a 50-50 chance of rain each day, so be prepared! You HAVE to try this new dinner spot in Louisville You HAVE to try this new dinner spot in Louisville! (opened this spring!) 🍽️

For a solid dinner choice, you can’t go wrong with Bourré Bonne Steakhouse. 💕

Located on the main floor of the @hotelbourrebonne it’s a French–inspired steakhouse with southern touches! 🥩 I also love its cozy yet upscale feel.

📍832 E Market St, Louisville, KY
🕰 Mon–Thu: 4pm–10pm
Fri–Sat: 4pm–11pm
Sun: 4pm–9pm

It’s the perfect option for date night! A couple actually got engaged while we were there 💍

Portions are generous, the vibe is relaxed (the staff were so kind to our 5 year old!), and the food is so flavorful and inventive. 🎉

My favorite thing was easily the croissant loaf with bayou butter, but my entree was incredible too! 🍝

Get yourself out there! 🤤

Thank you so much to the hotel for having us! The food was truly delicious! 🥰

Wales definitely felt like a “hidden gem” as a travel destination- 💎 at least as someone from the US!

I don’t think I’ve met more than 2 or 3 people who have ever been!

Most of the places we went were not crowded at all, and everything was so peaceful and beautiful 😍

Truly loved our stay at @hotelbourrebonne in Louis Truly loved our stay at @hotelbourrebonne in Louisville & honestly… obsessed. ✨

The staff were all so kind & they went out of their way multiple times to make us feel special, & to really include Lorenzo (our 5 year old) in everything 🥹

It’s one of those hotels where the vibe feels both modern and cozy at the same time 💕

We loved the bourbon barrel stay ceilings, 🥃 & the prettiest little design details everywhere you look- plus lots of art!

The rooms are super comfy, & the hotel is walkable to so many downtown spots 🏙️. Also the lobby feels luxe, but without trying too hard 😇

If you’re planning a weekend in Louisville, this is a really solid pick… especially if you love good food!! 🍝

The onsite restaurant, Steakhouse Bourré Bonne, served us one of my favorite meals EVER. So so good 🤤

It has an open kitchen, incredible cuts of steak, & a huge bourbon selection. Such a fun date-night spot ✨

Practical info:
📍 133 W Market St, Louisville, KY
(Part of Hilton’s Curio Collection)

Save this for your next Louisville stay! 🤍

Also huge thanks to the hotel for hosting us- we had such a fun family weekend getaway! 🥰

Let me know if I missed any places you know of 🐂

⭐️ Note ⭐️ The place we’re feeding the cow in the video was at Trossachs Woolen Mill. You can pay at the store inside and they’ll give you carrots you can feed the cows. 🥕 Of course never feed random livestock without permission!

Full transparency here! 🙈 What did I spend on a Full transparency here! 🙈

What did I spend on a 10 day Scotland road trip?

🩵 My husband is a data analyst, so he kept track of every penny in a detailed spreadsheet (😂) which I later organized to figure this out!

⭐️ Keep in mind this is for the cost of ONE person, assuming you are splitting it with one or more others

🏨LODGING: We stayed in budget or midrange hotels ranging from $85/nt to $175/nt. We did a combination of hotels (via @bookingcom), AirBNB and one private room in a hostel. This cost $390 total per person, or $39/day

🍽FOOD/GROCERIES: We did a combination of grocery shopping, eating included meals from our lodgings, and going to restaurants or pubs. 🍻

We only ate at one “expensive” spot the whole trip, and tried not to go too crazy. Excluding alcohol, our meals and snacks ended up at $280 total per person, or $28/day

🚙TRANSPORT: If you don’t do a road trip of Scotland, this would be significantly cheaper. However, car is what we wanted!

Using our @costco membership, our rental was $580 total. If you split this cost, it would be $58/day or about $29 per person per day.

⛽️GAS & PARKING: This added up, I’ll admit. 🙃 We did drive around 1,200 miles total, though!

Between gas and parking in the bigger cities where it wasn’t free, we spent a total of $375, or about $19 per person per day.

🎟ATTRACTIONS/TICKETS/EXCURSIONS: We spent a total of $250 on things like admission to historic sites, fun activities, walking tours, etc.

This would be about $25/day, or about $13 per person each day.

⭐️These prices do NOT include alcohol, souvenirs, or the round trip ferry ticket we purchased to Orkney. ⭐️
